life lately...

Dad just returned from a week away.
We tried to stay busy so we wouldn't miss him so much.
Here is what we've been up to...
 A library visit...
I love that our library is surrounded in trees...even the parking spaces.
The architect was obviously in touch with nature
since it feels more like you are part of the natural surroundings...
than the other way around.
Introduced Nate to the "Nate the Great" series...
And read about why Dragons LOVE tacos...
it's true.
 Such a cute children's book.
watched a movie in our tent...
And made some cool new shirts for school.
If you are on a budget, this is for you...
Just go to the dollar store, pick up some shirts,
grab your fabric paint, and go to town...
And voila!
Some inexpensive shirts for school!
Nate loved it since he is our little artist...
Spence got in on the action too!
And by the time we were done making cookies...
Daddy was home!
We had fun, but we sure miss him when he's gone!

Those shirts are adorable! How did you make the stencils? Did you just cut them out with an exacto knife out of paper? I would love to give it a try!

Thanks, Robin. ;) I love all the Adam Rubin books (check out "Those Darn Squirrels too).

Corinne- We used freezer paper for the stencils. You cut out your design and then iron it onto the shirt. Super easy and super fun. Just make sure you put a piece of cardboard in between the shirt before you start painting so it wont bleed through to the other side. ;)

Other than not trusting myself to cut such nice lines it looks really easy! I'll have to give it a shot sometime. thanks!
