Labyrinth...England Style

Photobucket

I'm behind on posting, but a few weeks back our family went to a place called "The Forbidden Corner." It totally reminded me of that 80's movie called the Labyrinth that I used to watch as a kid. Come on, you know...the one with that certain spikey-haired rocker and the creepy muppet-like characters that Jennifer Connelly acted with. It's a true 80's classic.
Anyway, the reason it reminded me so much of the movie was because it was a giant "labyrinth" if you will, full of little oddities and weird surprises. There were lots of mazes to get through...

Cool passages and little spaces...Lots of statues...
and clues to help you find your way out....

Quite a few obstacles to overcome...(here is Grandpa carrying Spence over a water trap). Here is Spence trying to get a better view of where we are in the maze.

The view from the top...not quite as revealing as we had hoped.

(Here is Nate in front of what he likes to call, "the dragon's mouth." It makes a gaging sound as you walk in. Then you walk through what looks like his belly and such. You end up...well....out his end).

We did finally make it out of the labyrinth a few hours later! Lucky for us, there were no spikey-haired rockers singing "dance magic dance" while holding up a crystal ball in our faces. Phew, dodged a bullet on that one!

Just in case you have had no idea what you have been missing with the Labyrinth, here is a little clip of that song from the movie...this one's for you Phil!

what an awesome place, i didn't see labyrinth til i was a little older but still found david bowie to be extremely creepy and thought he was a woman for most of the movie til i noticed the bulge in his shimmery pants. it's a very weird movie.

hahaha...yes, Andrea. I am definitely sure on that one. But he would make a good Halloween costume, no?
