Baked Beans

I'd like to think I'm pretty vigilant with my children.
Of course, I can't watch them 24/7, but they've managed to avoid various potentially harmful situations in my short career as a parent. That is until 2 days ago. I thought I had seen everything when it comes to having a toddler (with Nate), but no. Nate has mearly paved the way for his little brother to take the lead.
I've noticed that Spencer has had an odd fixation with his orifices. I figured that was a normal baby thing, but Spence has taken it to some new levels. Let's just leave it at that. But I will share the most recent of his escapades...

We had a BBQ the other night for dinner. I let Spencer sample some of everything, including a hot dog and some baked beans. Spence started saying "Mommy, Mommy" in a very distressed and nasal tone. It was weird that he sounded nasal. I turned to look at him and didn't see why he was acting so odd. Then he said it again, slightly more distressed.

Upon closer inspection, I could see that there was part of something brown in his nose. Then it hit me. Spencer had forced a baked bean up his nose! Luckily, we were able to get it out. I wish that was the end of the story. We started eating again, but he kept fussing. So I did another inspection. To make a long disgusting story short, we discovered four more beans. Four! In that tiny little nose! They just kept coming! (And on a side note, these weren't regular baked beans, they were the spicy kind). Oh yeah, and then he stuck some hot dog chunks up there soon after.

Spencer....you've left me speachless.

Let me be the first to congratulate you on your newly earned title.

hahaha! Love it! My 4 year old used to do that. The worst was the playdoh... it burned... he never did it after that one. Hope this stage passes quickly.

This reminds me of when Ben was complaining about his nasal cavity and we found a toothbrush in there...
