Reunited and it feels so good

Tonight is my 10 year high school reunion, and I'm kinda wondering if I should be more sad that I am not going. In fact, I feel just fine. The idea of going to a reunion is a pretty scary endeavor if you ask me. You will see people you haven't spoken to in years, and you're faced with telling them what you've done with your life and what you've become...it's judgement day. What would I say to them? I am not rich, I am not famous, and I haven't been elected to anything. But the truth is that none of that really matters. I am a completely different person than I was back then...well, ok, maybe I am still a bit of a geek. Maybe I don't have a huge list of accomplishments to show off, but I am happy. I have a great family, a husband who loves me, a roof over my head, and a definite direction in my life. Besides, why do you really need to go to a reunion when you have facebook anyway? Seriously, you can see what people look like now, see what they are doing...all without the awkward "Wow, you look great"...or "you haven't changed a bit" (even though they have a gut and are balding), all the while they are getting drunk. And then you can just delete them from your "friends" list and move on with your life. Wonderful wonderful invention! (yes, I am the anti-facebook facebooker; I don't collect friends, I delete them! haha).

Great post. I feel the same way about reunions. In my opinion your life is full of accomplishments. You're a mom and a wife and that is the most important thing a person can do. Just my 2 cents. :)

You are right! You've accomplished what's really important and we are really proud of you. Keep up the good work! Beside you would 'wow' them all. :) Mom
