Indulge me a little....

Ok, so anyone who does not have small children or an appreciation for crafty things will probably be totally bored reading this, but hey, I am about to have a baby so indulge me a little. I was surfing the Internet the other day and came across some cool ideas. Apparently, tag blankets are "all the rage" with babies. I had never heard of them before (maybe i don't get out enough) but I thought it would be a fun project. You attach little toys and things to the end of the outside of the blanket with those little plastic rings. And wallah!...baby is occupied for hours! (or in my case at least a good 10 minutes).

Another idea I liked are homemade "quiet books." I remember seeing these when I was younger and I even have a really simple one I bought for Nate, but these people have outdone themselves! I have been trying to think of ways to occupy Nate during church, and now with a second little boy coming, I am trying to get ahead of the game and I think this would totally be a hit! Here are pictures of some of the page ideas I liked the best....(most of the things are removable and attached with Velcro). So cute!!! Now whether I'll actually find the time to make these is another thing ;)

Amber those are so cute! I want to make some. I wish we lived closer so we could make them together.

those quiet books look so wonderful, but would the velcro be loud being ripped on and off over and over again? I've seen those tag blankets before but I don't think they would work too well because babies like the real tags and i think partly because it's this strange with thing sticking out of their toy. if there were a lot of them i don't think it would be as effective, but if you make one or get one let me know how your little boy likes it:)

Oh the days when I used to be crafty...I would have been all over these. These days it seems like these kind of projects get lost in my life of running 4 kids kids around and trying to keep my head above water. So...maybe you should start making them and I will buy one from you :). But seriously cute (and I really do want one). Or maybe I should have the YW do them as a project. So excited for you to have your baby. Such fun ahead. You look great. Nate is darling and growing up.
