Yes, I know Christmas is still a month and a half away...

So I have been eyeing this adorable advent calendar for years, but could never justify buying it because it was so expensive (as most things at Pottery Barn are). It made me sad because I just know Nate would LOVE it! But this year I decided to just make my own.
Am I crazy you ask? Why yes, yes I am.
I saw it up close and personal at the mall last weekend, and it actually doesn't look like it would be that difficult to make. It's made of felt (which is usually cheap), and the sewing is just straight lines, except for the star and tree. Of course, I haven't even attempted it yet, so we will see if I am wrong. Anyway, I just thought I'd post about it in case someone else out there is as crazy as me and is interested in making this little beauty. I'll post updates on my progress later (when I actually get around to starting it). I'm hoping to finish it before December, since that's when you are supposed to start the "count down" to Christmas....fingers crossed that will happen! :/

I'm a friend of your Mom's and found your blog through hers. High five to you! I have been drooling over that same advent calendar ever since I first saw it, too. The difference----I don't dare even try to make it. But I'm sure you'll do a fabulous job and I can't wait to see how it turns out!
